Pork chops w onion pepper steak sauce



4 pork chops (about 1 to 1 1/2 inch thick)

1/2 onion ( julienned)

1/2 tsp black pepper

3 tablespoon HP steak sauce

1- 2 tablespoon soy sauce (adjust according to personal taste)

1 – 2 cups of stock (or water)




step 1

Brine pork chops (for about 2-4 hours) in a mixture of :

water (enough to submerge the chops), 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup salt, 1 tablespoon pepper


Step 2

Pat pork chops with paper towel to dry excess brine.

Heat up some oil in a large pan (oven proof)

Add pork chop.


Step 3

Brown both sides.

Pan fry each side for about 3 minutes.


Step 4

Preheat oven to 375 F

Cover pan with aluminium foil.

Depending on the thickness of the chops (takes about 8-15 mins to cook through)


Step 5

Remove pork chops.


Step 6

Add onions and brown for about 1 minute

Add steak sauce, soy sauce and pepper

Add about 1 1/2 cup of beef stock/chicken stock/veggie stock or water

Scrap the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon and stir

Let sauce is reduce to about half the amount.


Step 7

Add the pork chops back to the sauce and mix well.
