A Housewife’s Tale episode 130

Meep has been bugging me about changing the title of these weekly menu recaps since the name no longer applies. Problem is, I barely have any creative juice at any given day (the title of this blog and weekly episode came to me during a conversation with my sis, it could have been her idea for all I know) so I guess we are gonna have to deal w this until I come up with something clever. So here goes Episode 130

.

Sunday – After spending the morning on a mission to find “the dress” for CP, making our way from San Fran all the way to San Jose and a good 8 hours later – we had dinner at Gokaku. Originally wanted to try out Gyu Kaku but the wait was 1.5 hours so we went to Gokaku instead.

.
.

Monday – The long awaited new job celebratory dinner w SK & A! A and I talked about wanting to try out The Village Pub for a while now and I figured it was the perfect spot to celebrate getting “the” job! We definitely went all out with the Tagliatelle w Mascarpone & Fresh shaved Truffles, Crab Salad & Abalone to share and then Branzino & Steak for our mains. I thought the meal itself was pretty good considering my nose was all stuffed up from my cold.

.

.

Tuesday – Marinated Spicy Beef Short ribs & Asparagus w Mushrooms. I love making these beef short ribs because marinating for about an hour is more than enough for these thin slices of fatty marbled meat to absorb all the flavours and takes only a few minutes to cook~

,

.

Wednesday – Kimchi Fried Rice! I intentionally cooked extra rice the night before so that it could dry out in the fridge and be perfect for fried rice~

.

.

Thursday – Spam & Eggs w rice! This is slowly becoming a staple in our weekly menu (not good!!)… I am waiting to get accustomed to my current schedule and work out how to continue cooking our dinners without eating badly. Definitely a work in progress but I am sure it can happen (crosses fingers).

.

.

Friday – After two years of wondering what the hype was w Boiling Crab, I finally had it!  A had a friend visiting from Japan and that was on her “must go” list…  It took over 2.5 hours after putting our name on the wait list before we got seated (no, I put our name down on the list and went home and went back after 1.5 hrs but still waited over an hour more before getting seated). Definitely our current record of how long we are willing to wait for food.  Pigged out on Shrimp, Clams, King Crab Legs and a crap load of Louisiana Sausages.

.

.

Saturday – After spending all afternoon running some errands and then indulging in a nice long nap, Meep and I met up with DK for dinner. DK and I felt like some Korean (Meep never has an opinion about where we eat), so he picked Secret Garden in Santa Clara. I was more than happy to oblige since we have never been.

The massive egg that I got for the Soondobu creeped me out and then I found out it was a twinsy!! ^_^

It has been a busy week but it seems to be that way the past few weeks and I am starting to love it! Next week will be a tad quieter for dinner plans but lunch plans are all set and I am excited~ Till then!
