A Housewife’s Tale episode 138

Has it really been 138 weeks? Almost 3 full months of working full time and still cooking (ish) and blogging (lagging behind but trying to keep up). Here is what our weekly menu recaps have been looking like for a while now ( 1/3 eating out, 2/3 simple dishes and more repeats and leftover than I would like)

.

Sunday – Broiled Mackerel and Baby Bak Choy w Shiitake Mushrooms. Veggie Pork Bone Soup that took about 2 hours but always so comforting.

.

.

Monday -My first attempt at Hakka Salted Chicken. I actually cooked this chicken the night before.. Steaming it and letting it sit for 3 hours like what the recipe suggested. It was delish!! Different from Hainanese Chicken Rice but just as good in its own way~

.

.

Tuesday – Had Red Robin for the first time! HK decided to compile a list of restaurant chains that I have never been to and start trying them out. I can’t say it was great but at least I got to try it! Had too much food and leftovers for dinner. I think Meep actually cooked himself some instant noodles 🙂

Oh, BL came back from his short trip to LA and brought back some fresh mochi! He actually got Orange, Blueberry, Strawberry and Chocolate. I thought the chocolate and strawberry flavours were freaking amazing *yums*

.

.

Wednesday – Black bean spare ribs & pea shoots for dinner~ Meep’s favourite dish that takes less than 20 minutes to prepare ^_^

.

.

Thursday – I went running after work so did not cook dinner and Meep polished off our leftover ribs.

.

Friday – Meep and I went out to sushi! Originally I wanted to go out for ramen but it was extremely warm out so I decided against a hot bowl of soup and went for something on the cool side – sushi at Yuki’s! I actually had sushi for lunch w the team at Sushi Sam’s in San Mateo but one can never have too much sushi!

.

.

Saturday – Started our weekend in the mall and got some Jollibee! I love this stuff eventhough it is not the greatest but it just brings me warm memories of my childhood. ^_^

Dinner at SK & A’s. I have been hearing a lot about SK’s rotisserie chicken made with his gifted Baby George and it was pretty damn tasty! The chicken rivaled many rotisserie chickens I have had! I think I might have polished off 1/3 of the chicken by myself -_-…

After dinner, we got dessert at ETC Dessert Cafe – Honey Toast!! I have never had it before and I got to say, this stuff is really good!!!

.

Till  next week!!
