A Housewife’s Tale

I have been here almost a year ago w M for lunch. I thought the food was reasonably priced (for lunch) and not bad, so I brought Bern & NC here~

As we walked in the restaurant, it is tee nee (lol) and covered with lotsa decorations (it was pretty cluttered!!).

This is random – a mini Statue of Liberty!

T his place is usually packed during the lunch rush. I have never been here for dinner tho~

Menu is a simple 2 pager for lunch making choices relatively easy~ They served complimentary soup & salad w rice dishes.

Mixed veggie soup~

Very nice, light and savoury soup to start off the meal

Salad w thousand island dressing

The salad was nice & crisps with a generous amount of a watered down version of the regular thousand island dressing.

Roti $1.95

Served w a sweet curry sauce

The first time I came, I enjoyed the roti a lot. This time around it was quite disappointing. It was not flaky and did not have the nice thin layers that peel apart easily when made properly.

Prawn Gang Dang (Red Curry) $9.95

Choice of chicken, beef, pork or prawns. Curry comes w rice for lunch.~

This was delicious. It was a little on the sweet side but the sauce was so thick, creamy, sweet, salty and just tasty. It went really well with the rice. The shrimp was ok but tasted like frozen shrimp (Can’t win them all)

Chicken Pad Thai $9.95

Option of chicken or beef.

Really really really tasty pad thai. The noodles were thinner than most pad thais I have tried but it was great. The noodle had a nice chew to it and was totally immersed in a nice tangy, sweet & salty pad thai sauce.

Very generous amounts of bean sprouts & chicken as well. The flavours were just spot one!

Personal Rating – 3.25 out of 5 (Pretty Darn Good)

The pad that was really tasty. I have been searching for a pad thai that would satisfy the cravings; and for the longest time only Bouoluoang in Edmonton served the pad thai that would satiate me. I think I have found one in San Jose too!

I can’t wait for another visit to try the other dishes~
