Honeymoon Dessert – Singapore

Originally from Hong Kong and now a global franchise with establishments all over South East Asia, China & Hong Kong. Honeymoon Dessert specialises in Asian desserts~

After a great dinner at Ippudo, we were walking around trying to decide where to spend the next couple hours. We walked pass Honeymoon dessert that is right in the middle of the mall. The walkway was turned into a mini seating area/restaurant, and the “kitchen” is actually in one of the “stores”.

Menu is well laid out with pictures and prices:

.

We ordered:

Durian Pancake $4.50

Pretty good~ The pancake was thin and soft, with nice fresh cream in the centre and durian puree which taste a lot like durian cake. A little pricey for one little pancake.

.

Sweet Ball & Sesame Soup $5

The sesame soup was quite disgusting (harsh isn’t it). Henri who really enjoys his sesame soup only ate about a couple spoonfuls and just ended up eating the glutinous balls which were quite good. The sesame itself reminded me of dirty socks and I could not get over it. 🙁

.

Snow White Sago $5.50

Ok, Kinda strange combination of everything but not too bad I guess. It is not overly sweet which is always a good thing for me. But it had everything but the kitchen sink in it – longan fruit, attap seeds, basil seeds, bananas, mango slices in a vanilla flavoured creamy base.

Not pictured:

Mango Pomelo & Sago Sweet Soup $5.50

This was not bad, not great but one of the better options out of everything we have tried. The mango pieces were nice and fresh with a good amount of pomelo and sago. Not to sweet as well, but nice and cold.

.

Sesame Soup & Walnut Soup $3

Again, the sesame soup was horrid. The walnut soup was ok by itself but when mixed w the sesame soup, became a weird nutty mix.

Overall Damage: ~SGD$25

Personal Rating: 2.25 out of 5 (Below average)

Other than the durian pancake, everything else was below average. A couple was almost inedible because they were quite unpleasant. What a disappointment for pricey and not so appealing desserts and we wasted so much food because we didn’t enjoy them.
